Hotmail will offer 2GB

Microsoft wants to provide the users of its free e-mail service with the same features offered by Outlook and Outlook Express. Aside from changing the interface, Hotmail will also offer options like previewing e-mails, antiphishing features and the possibility to block and unblock certain senders. Together with the new interface, Hotmail will also increase the storage space to 2 GB. This announcement marks ending of the battle for storing space. After the 2GB amount became the industry’s standard, all players are orienting now towards increasing the quality. The changes announced by Microsoft for the Hotmail service come only one month after Yahoo announced that it’s testing a new version of its web mail client, which is based on the DHTML technology bought by Yahoo from Oddpost. Google has also introduced an html editor into its e-mail editor, Gmail, which allows formatting the text of an e-mail. The new services offered by Hotmail are just in the testing stage. Thanks to hmm i forgot the link from where i read this news, sorry!.

Microsoft Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Cracked

Microsoft added a new check for windows which downloading microsoft updates or softwares. Now we can download microsoft updates only using genuine windows. Before downloading they will check our windows and we have to register our copy. This is to find pirated copies of Windows XP and force them to buy the original copy. But the Microsoft pirate check is cracked in less than 24 hour by a line of Javascript code!. The trick only apply to Windows Update, it does not work on Windows Download site that let you download free Microsoft softwares. (Iam not sure about it because i did not tried to do it)http://www.boingboing.net/2005/07/28/microsoft_genuine_ad.html Thanks to Liewcf

Windows Vista

The next version of Windows finally has an official name: Windows Vista. The advertising tagline for Vista is "Clear, Confident, Connected: Bringing clarity to your world," The first beta, or test release, of Vista is slated for release by Aug. 3. That release will be targeted at developers and IT professionals.Microsoft has promised that Vista will be widely available on computers for the 2006 holiday buying season. A beta, or test, version is planned for release on August 3. The server version is slated for 2007.Vista--what used to be called Longhorn--has evolved quite a bit since Microsoft first demonstrated an early version in 2003. The company has dropped plans to include its all-new WinFS file system and has also changed the way it's implementing a new Web services architecture, known as Indigo, and a new graphics engine, dubbed Avalon. Among the key features of Vista as it currently stands are: security enhancements, a new searching mechanism, lots of new laptop features, parental controls and better home networking. There will also be visual changes, thanks to Avalon, ranging from shiny translucent windows to icons that are tiny representations of a document itself. The other features broad IPv6 support, improved client-side caching of data stored on a server, whole-volume encryption, a revamped synchronization engine, the ability to support laptops with an auxiliary display, automatic hard drive optimization and a secure boot-up process that helps prevent someone from gaining access to your data if your PC is lost or stolen. There's also probably a ton of stuff we haven't heard about yet. Everything is not final.Microsoft said in an April interview that he expects Vista will need about 512MB of memory and "today's level" of processor. The ability to display all the fancy new graphics will depend on what type of graphics card one has. On some older machines, the graphics may look similar to today's Windows. from cnet news http://news.com.com/2100-1008_3-5189453.html

I Got My GirlFriend

It was a Sunday. I was going to Bangalore for visiting my aunty, cousins etc. I like train but I didn’t get ticket in sleeper class. So I decided to try Volvo. After long search I got a ticket in a Volvo. I got ticket from Thiruvalla to Bangalore. At 4.30PM I went to Thiruvalla. The bus arrived there on 5.30. I got my window seat. The bus went to Chaganasery to pick up other travelers. At Chaganasery all the seat was full except the 2nd seat which is connected with my seat. I asked the driver that whose seat is this. He said that that seat is booked by Mr. ****. I took my Sony Mini Recorder and start to play some newly recorded songs. After 30 mnts the bus reached Kottayam. I was sleeping at that time because in the last night I don’t get enough time to sleep. But the driver called me and said to take my book from that vacant seat. Yup I thought “Mr. **** is coming”. I placed my book in my bag and continued my sleep. After some time I heard a sound EXCUSEME. I opened my eyes slowly. Oh my god, a beautiful girl, that vacant seat was her seat. I lost my sleep, got some energy. Took my magazine and start to read. After some time she opened her bag and took a lays chips packet. She opened it and she shows that packet to me and said “take”. Slowly I took one and said “thanks”. She gives a pleasant smile and said”my name is ****”. I said “my name is Arun”. “Oh it is my brother’s name”, she replied. Then we talked about our studies, family…. She is studying Engineering, 3rd year computer science and engineering, my same year and branch. Actually that seat was booked for her uncle. But he gave that seat to her because she had exam on Tuesday. Then we talked about our colleges, friends, hobbies etc. At 9.30 we reached in a hotel for our lunch. We sit in a table with two seats. I ordered one ghee roost and a coffee and she also ordered the same. After completing the lunch she ordered two vanilla ice creams, one was for me. I said thanks. After paying bills I bought two packs of Little Heart biscuits and give one packet to her. She asked me “is it is your heart”, I said “yes”, “oho” she replied and laughed. Then we returned to bus and a Hindi film, Style was playing in the bus. It is a comedy film and I liked it very much, she also. After that film we slipped to sleep. In the morning we reached in Bangalore. My cousin sister, her husband and her little son was waiting for me. She (my new friend) called an auto and was ready to go. She asked my e-mail id and mobile no. I said “I also need your id and number”. She opened her bag and took a paper, split it in to two pieces and gave one piece to me. I write my e-mail address and mobile number, she was writing the same. I give the paper to her and she lifts her hand to take it, suddenly a big sound “rringrinrginrginrging” ohh it is the alarm which I set to wakeup in the morning to go to college.Ops I was dreaming. What a romantic and lovely dream. I tried to remember her name and her college, no idea, I forgot that. My god, I lost her. Hey can I able to see its continuation? I have no idea. My dear GOD please show me its continuation. At least give her e-mail id yar.

Fedora Core 4 Released

Fedora Core 4 (Stentz) is the latest release, from the project sponsored by Red Hat Inc. Every new version of Fedora Core comes with interesting new features and many bug fixes. “Fedora Core 4 continues our tradition of syncing to the latest and greatest open source releases, including GNOME® 2.10, KDE 3.4.0, Firefox™ 1.0.4, OpenOffice.org 1.9.104, and a 2.6.11-based kernel,” Red Hat desktop team lead Havoc Pennington said. Iam waiting for getting FC4. If you get FC4 please give me. But from the screen shot, i didn't like this type of desktop. I like the old look. I used this type of desktop in Ubuntu. But iam not sure that whether i like the desktop of FC4 or not. I will tell you after i using it,ok. Some of its features are Java enablers, Xen and virtualization (Xen is defined as a “paravirtualizing virtual machine monitor,” or hypervisor. What this really means is that you can execute multiple virtual machines on a single physical system with close to native performance!), Fedora Core 4 effectively became the first Linux distribution to ship the GNU C Compiler (GCC) version 4 as the default compiler and many more. My Trivandram Trip

It was a nice trip, I enjoyed it very much. Thursday I went to Thiruvanadapuram for my relative’s Veli (Wedding). After that I went to my uncle’s (Dr. Govinadan Namboothiri) house. I stayed there with my cousin’s Karthika & Athira. I tried to repair there modem, but the modem was damaged. So I decided to buy a new internal modem. Next day I saw the Tamil film Anniyan. Super film, we all like that film. Then I went to Kizakkekkotta with my cousin Shibi to buy a modem. After a long walk we found a shop and bought an Ace internal modem. Then we went to his house. On the way I saw the college bus of one of my net friend, I searched for her face in the window seats, hahaha I have no idea aobut her face, so how I can find her :). On the way I checked my mail and offline messages from a café, I hr 15ruppe. Then we went to Shibi’s friend’s (Ganeesh) and his sister Gayathri Chechi's (my net friend) house. After that we visited my net friend Smitha Chechi’s house. So in that day I saw ( at first time) some of my net friends:).So I like that day. Next day we returned to my cousin Athira’s house for celebrating her Pirannal(Birthday). I connected the new modem in there system and took a netone connection ( hmm good speed, I downloaded the yahoo messenger in 15mnts). Then I called my senior George, now he working in T-Soft, as a developer for developing applications and games for mobile phones. I visited his company, not very bad, so it was my first IV (Industrial Visit). From there we returned to Vattiyurkavu. After reaching there I opened my bag, Oh My God, I saw the text book of Linear Integrated Circuit, ops I have exam on Tuesday, and nothing yet started. So I decide to return back to my home on Sunday Morning Train (@ 7.40, Kannaya Kumari – Bombay). In the morning my perappan dropped me in the railway station. The train was 10mnts late. I was in general compartment. I noticed some of the problem between some travelers. But I like train journey very much, than journey through air and road.
